Join us to learn how to create a made-to-measure pinafore that will become a wardrobe staple! You will design and make a complete garment that fits you like a glove. From taking the first measurement to finishing the final hem, we will guide you through the entire process. Not only will you take home your garment but you will also have the pattern blocks to make it again and again and again!
You will learn
- How to measure accurately for clothing
- How to draft a pattern to your measurements
- How to economically and accurately cut out
- How to construct and finish a garment
You will need to bring your own sewing machine (we do have some you can borrow but we will need advance notice) and sewing kit (scissors, tailor’s chalk, snips, pins/clips etc.) but we can sort you out with anything you are short of. You will also need to be able to do the basics on a sewing machine (threading up, winding a spool, sewing straight stitch). We will teach you the rest!
Workshop takes place at The Yarn Barn in Milnrow, runs from 9:15am-5pm and costs £70 which includes fabric, sewing thread, pattern paper, supporting resources, tuition and refreshments. You will need to bring a packed lunch.
